Sanibel Shell Museum's Under The Sea Luau On Sunday
 |
A perfect way to end any weekend on Sanibel would be with a tropical party complete with sand, shells and a spectacular sunset... and that is exactly what The Bailey- Matthews Shell Museum has planned for its January 29 benefit on the Island Inn beach.
This year's Under The Sea luau, sponsored by the Sanibel-Captiva Trust Company, will be a festive, Polynesianthemed event that takes place from 4 to 9 p.m. Shuttle service to the Island Inn will be available from Bailey's General Store, and the dress code is island casual. There will be live music with Polynesian dancers and fire eaters, refreshments, an island dinner catered by Traditions On The Beach and Bailey's General Store and plenty of terrific prize packages, raffle and auction items. They include artwork from Jesús Casaus, Joe Elias, Carol Garvin, Hoi, Tony Rinaldi, Myra Roberts and Joan Tangren.
The dinner menu includes choices of Polynesian-style fish, chicken, shrimp or a roasted whole Kalua pig, side dishes and desserts.
Tickets are $125 per person and reservations can be made on the Events page at www.shellmuseum.org.
If you would like to be an event sponsor or contribute auction/raffle prizes, contact Evelyn Stewart at 472-8443 or Aippsm@aol.com.
